Freelance Design Engineer:
I design in 3D SolidWorks software various fixtures and displays for stores, and generally POP industry. I also have experience in heavy equipment engineering thanks to working part time in a past for a commercial snow plow business. I can help in engineering process from a brainstorming stage in a form of a simple sketch on a piece of paper to providing a full engineering package in a form of PDF drawings, 3D and 2D CAD files, reports, and other documentation needed for making first a prototype, and then leading to production of displays. I perform project research for new assignments as well as value-engineering for existing projects. I can also provide project management services in gathering quotes from suppliers, building and testing prototypes, and re-evaluating prototypes for a production.
The name of my new company comes from the Latin, “Magnum Sal” and I Americanized it to “Magnum Salt.” This was the name of the town in Poland, now called Wieliczka, where I was born and lived for 25 years before coming to America. Magnum Sal means
“Great Salt” in Latin and derives its significance from the salt mines existing there since the 13th century. These were a source of income for the Polish kingdom through many centuries, and exist today as a tourist attraction, where one can view amazing things carved in salt. The mines needed complex equipment to carry salt from underground to the surface, which is where I found the connection to my new engineering company and this very old town.
